Arsenal are interested in signing one of Norway’s best young prospects, according to The Telegraph.

The Gunners have had a quiet winter transfer window, but there could be transfer activity in the coming weeks.

Manager Mikel Arteta has said that the club are aiming to fill the void left by injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

A couple of attacking players could be prioritised. The Telegraph today reveal the club are keen on signing Sverre Nypan.

The 18-year-old has already made over 50 appearances for Rosenborg in the Norwegian top-flight.

He has been compared with Martin Odegaard from the age of 16, and his future could be decided in the coming weeks.

Arsenal are firm admirers of the youngster, who was described as ‘spectacular‘ by his agent Rafael Pimenta in 2023.

They could face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester City for his services.

Rosenborg are eyeing around £10 million to part ways with the highly-rated playmaker.

Arsenal could grab market opportunity to land Nypan

The 18-year-old is a central attacking midfielder like Odegaard.

He has been superb this term with eight goals and 10 assists from 33 appearances in all competitions.

The teenager is ambipedal and has the ability to create chances and score goals with both feet.

Nypan has also caught the eye with his duel-winning ability, work rate and impressive dribbling.

At £10m, he would represent a shrewd transfer business for the Gunners this winter.

He has immense potential, and Arsenal must grab the opportunity to land him ahead of City.

The club have already missed out on Vitor Reis to Pep Guardiola’s side, and need to make amends with the acquisition of Nypan, who could be a game-changer despite his tender age.
