HERE WE GO: Arsenal finally completes first summer transfer signing after so many week of negotiations- Medical Completed ahead of the announcement scheduled to hold tomorrow

Arsenal are set to make a formal offer for Bayern Munich star winger Leroy Sane today, journalist Sami Yen Haber has revealed.

The Gunners are reportedly expected to step up their interest in the Germany international after being heavily linked with a move over the past month.

Sane could leave Bayern when his contract expires this month and has no shortage of suitors, with Turkish duo Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, as well as several Saudi Pro League clubs, all submitting proposals.

The 29-year-old is also believed to still have a contract offer on the table from Bayern, where he currently earns £280,000 per week.

Sane has been linked with a return to the Premier League in recent weeks, five years after he left Manchester City for the Bavarian capital.

The German forward spent four seasons at the Etihad Stadium and lifted the Premier League title twice, scoring 25 goals and providing 30 assists in 90 top-flight appearances.

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are both believed to have shown interest in bringing Sane back to England this summer, following his productive campaign in Germany under Vincent Kompany.

The 29-year-old scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 45 games across all competitions, and ended the Bundesliga campaign in particularly strong form.

He registered seven goal contributions in his last nine appearances and helped Bayern reclaim their league title, having finished second behind Bayer Leverkusen last season.

Arsenal are expected to bring in a new wide forward this summer and are also believed to be looking at Athletic Bilbao ace Nico Williams.

According to reports, the Spain international would expect a hefty pay rise if he were to leave Bilbao this summer, which remains a concern for Emirates chiefs, as it would make him one of the club’s highest-paid players.
