HERE WE GO: Arsenal’s cancels Eberechi Eze’s deal, agree £96million transfer fee to sign an experienced Premier League attacker who’s better

Arsenal are reportedly interested in hijacking Inter Milan’s deal to sign Ademola Lookman, as per Football London.

Since moving to the Gewiss Stadium from RB Leipzig back in 2022, the Nigerian international has established himself as one of the best forwards in Serie A.

In 31 appearances in the Italian top flight, the 27-year-old made 18 goal contributions in the 2023/24 season. Moreover, he guided his side to win the Europa League title by scoring a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Lookman also showcased his productivity last term, netting 20 goals and registering six assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. He helped his side qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top three.

Now, Football London report that Inter Milan are interested in the former Everton star, and the player has handed in a transfer request.

However, Atalanta have no intention of letting him leave for anything less than £43m, and the Nerazzurri don’t want to spend that much for him. Therefore, Inter are now planning to go for Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku.

Arsenal are also interested in Lookman and could make a concrete approach to secure his service this summer to reinforce the left side of the attack.

Lookman to Arsenal

Rodrygo Goes and Anthony Gordon are the two primary targets for Arsenal for this position, but either of them will cost a huge amount. Therefore, Lookman is a cheaper alternative option that they could look to go for.

Arsenal also want Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, but he is considered a CAM option, and the North London club want a new left winger on top of purchasing him.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are the two options Arsenal currently have for the LW position. However, they displayed average performances last term, while the Belgian has been linked with a move away.

Lookman previously spent time in the Premier League with Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City, but couldn’t manage to flourish in the English top flight. However, he has become a mature player and is currently at the prime stage of his career.

Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for the North London club should they eventually manage to secure his service before the end of this transfer window.
