HERE WE GO: Manchester United confirmed double transfer signings as those players are withdrawn from international duty ahead of the unveiling scheduled to hold today

Man United manager Ruben Amorim comes into the new season under considerable pressure after what was United’s worst Premier League finish in the club’s history.

They ended the season with a win against Aston Villa, but despite that, finished 15th in the league table, and failed to secure European football after losing the Europa League final to fellow strugglers Tottenham.

Amorim has begun to improve his squad this summer by making one signing already, plus, reports have suggested that there could be another on the way as soon as this week.

Martin Keown tells Manchester United to sign Jurgen Klopp

With all the pressure on Amorim to improve, many weren’t convinced by the United boss during his first year in charge at Old Trafford as things didn’t really improve for the team after he was appointed following Erik Ten Hag’s sacking.

Former Arsenal defender and pundit Martin Keown believes that United should move on from Amorim, and instead make a controversial move to bring in former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Keown said on talkSPORT: “Just look at the number of games they’ve lost. It’s going to be a very interesting start to next season for them but they could do a lot worse than go and get Jurgen Klopp to manage their football club. I’m not trying to sensationalise. I believe he could do an incredible job there and I believe they need somebody with more experience than the current manager.”

It would be a bold move for Klopp to join Man United due to his love for arch-rivals Liverpool, however, Keown believes that it is possible. However, it is understood that United will give Amorim a lot more time, including giving him the chance to spend and rebuild his squad this summer.

Furthermore, United are also accelerating a move to sign Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo, who is expected to cost around £60m. He also had an excellent goalscoring season last year, netting 20 goals in the Premier League, making him the fourth-highest-scoring player. -Arsenal are also said to be keen on Mbeumo, but the Brentford star has reportedly said yes to a move to Man United, and the club are now in talks to sign the 25-year-old, with a possible announcement later this week.
