HERE WE GO: Manchester United finally agree to pay a huge amount of money to sign the most aggressive striker in Europe- Medical to hold today and announcement tomorrow

Manchester United’s search for a striker continues to go on this summer, having seen their campaign falter thanks to a severe lack of goals in their attacking ranks – and journalist Graeme Bailey believes that Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic has been earmarked as a potential late option for the Red Devils to purchase, given that he could cost just £20million.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both underperformed in the Premier League this season, scoring four and three goals combined for the Red Devils in the league as they had to settle for a 15th-placed finish in the top-flight, their worst in the competition’s history by some stretch.
Bailey: Dusan Vlahovic Could Still Join Man Utd
The Serbian star has been touted with moves away due to his expiring contract
That has seen Ruben Amorim and club chief Jason Wilcox aim to bring in a striker in the early weeks of the campaign. Although they’ve signed Matheus Cunha, who can act as a striker despite primarily being a No. 10, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers hero isn’t an out-and-out talisman and more firepower will be needed.
And that could see them land the “world-class” Vlahovic, with Bailey telling United in Focus that the Serbian has crept onto their radar due to the fact that he could be available for as little as £20million in the coming months. Bailey said:
“I am told Amorim and Wilcox have a good relationship, Wilcox played a role in bringing him in – there is a trust there. As we know the push for Liam Delap, caused a divide, not everyone agreed but Wilcox is aiming to get this striker decision right.
“Amorim wants that integral figure to lead the line and Wilcox wants to deliver that. Amorim’s former charge Viktor Gyokeres is on their radar and talks have been held, as they have been for Victor Osimhen too – who has turned down Saudi Arabia, as he is keen on England.
“I am also told not to discount Dusan Vlahovic – the appeal of him is that he could move for just £20million this summer.”
A bid to sign Liam Delap went pear-shaped after he joined Chelsea for £30million earlier this month, and the Red Devils must now turn their attention elsewhere from the England international – which has included links to both Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen from Sporting and Napoli respectively.
Vlahovic, who is on a reported £315,000-per-week, has 43 Serie A goals in just three-and-a-half seasons, registering double figures in each season since the 2020/21 campaign – and at such a cheap price, he could be a star for United whilst also using the spare money to strengthen elsewhere.
