HERE WE GO: Top player rejects Chelsea and Man Utd transfer to join Arsenal after receiving call from Mikel Arteta

Arsenal are expected to submit a bid for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze in the coming days, journalist Steve Kay has claimed.

The Gunners’ initial offer for the England international is reportedly imminent and expected to arrive once Fabio Vieira’s potential sale to Stuttgart progresses.

Mikel Arteta’s side are believed to be prioritising Vieira’s departure in order to boost their pursuit of Eze, and are demanding in excess of €20m (£17m) for the Portuguese midfielder.

Arsenal would reportedly ideally like to get a deal for Eze in place this week, with the 27-year-old forward keen to join the North London club ‘as soon as possible’.

The England star wants to join ‘as soon as possible’

According to Kay, Eze wants clarity over his future before Crystal Palace’s Community Shield clash with Premier League champions Liverpool.

If Arsenal can reach an agreement with Palace this week, the 27-year-old ‘superstar’ is not expected to feature on Sunday amid the Gunners’ growing confidence that a deal will get over the line.

Arsenal’s first offer is expected to be in the region of €60m (£52m), and the next few days are said to be crucial in determining whether Eze will become a Gunner this summer.

While the England international is keen on a move, he is not actively pushing for an exit and could remain at Selhurst Park if no agreement is reached.

Arsenal have splashed out close to £190m on new arrivals this summer, with Viktor Gyokeres the latest to join from Sporting Lisbon in a £64m deal.

The Gunners have also been linked with a move for promising Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet but are unlikely to sign the 20-year-old before the transfer deadline.
