TBR Football understands Real Madrid have been aware of Arsenal starlet Max Dowman since 2022, as he appears on their scouting radar once again.

At just 15 years old, the playmaker has been quickly thrown into the spotlight, with senior opportunities following for the Gunners.

Dowman made his debut against Leeds, featuring from the bench in the final few moments of the game.

Appearances against Liverpool and Port Vale have followed, while the youngster has also featured in the matchday squad plenty this season.

The future is bright, and Mikel Arteta seems more than happy to invest his faith in the youngster to help him develop into a superstar.

However, there are teams elsewhere who already have their eyes on a possible move, including Real Madrid.

When Real Madrid were first aware of Max Dowman at Arsenal

Max Dowman is still making his way through the early challenges of his career, as he attempts to force his way into the Arsenal team for the future.

It may take a while to be a consistent presence, as Ethan Nwaneri experienced when he broke through at a similar age before he worked his way back up.

Naturally, though, Dowman’s rise at Arsenal has caught the attention of many fans and clubs, as teams look at the possibility of poaching him when he is eligible for a professional contract.

Among those who have scouted him are Real Madrid, with reports recently stating that the Spanish giants have watched him feature for England under-19s and were left impressed.

That isn’t the first time Los Blancos were made aware of Dowman, though.

TBR Football understands Real Madrid have been aware of the Arsenal youngster since 2022, when he featured in the Madrid Football Cup aged just 12.

TBR Football’s transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, explained all when he said: “As we know, every club is aware of him, but I am told Real Madrid have known about Max Dowman since he top scored at the Madrid Cup – a little club tournament in 2022… so it’s pretty remarkable how long they have known about him and have been following him since then.

“I have spoken to Real Madrid contacts about him before, and they say yeah, they are well aware of him, but they don’t think there is a good 15-year-old in the world not on their radar.”

It shows just how far the scouting network goes at Real Madrid, who have been well known for landing young talent and turning them into stars.

For now, though, Dowman’s development will continue at Arsenal.

Arsenal need to keep providing opportunities for Max Dowman to develop

As it stands, Arsenal are waiting to offer a professional contract to Max Dowman, which isn’t available until December 31, 2026, when he turns 17.

Between now and then, the Gunners will have a challenge in ensuring they can keep the youngster on board with the project and away from any teams looking to poach him.

That includes continuing with the sort of opportunities that Mikel Arteta has already handed out to him so far this season.

While they may end up being a little more sparse, given that he will need to play some academy football too during a busy season, that pathway has to exist.

Given that Dowman is an Arsenal fan, there is plenty of hope that the Gunners can keep him on board for the future.
