“I have played against Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer many times but ONE Arsenal player did something I’ve never seen in my whole professional career and for me I think he’s better than Saka and Palmer combined”: Leicester City superstar Wilfred Ndidi names what ONE Arsenal player did yesterday that Palmer will never do in his entire career

Alan Shearer was so impressed with Ethan Nwaneri’s performance against Leicester City and picked out two areas of his game which he really liked.

Nwaneri was awarded the Premier League Man of the Match award for his display at the King Power Stadium as the teenager set up Arsenal’s winning goal.

It was a tricky afternoon for the Gunners who just about got over the line in the Midlands as two late goals from Mikel Merino kept them in the title race.

But despite the Spaniard’s brace, it was Nwaneri who stood out the most for the North Londoners as he proved to be a constant threat against the Foxes.

Alan Shearer on why Ethan Nwaneri was a constant threat vs Leicester

Alan Shearer believes that at just 17 years of age, Ethan Nwaneri is already on his way to becoming a superstar for the Gunners.

The Match of the Day pundit reckons that the teenager was Arsenal’s biggest threat in their win over Leicester as he was constantly probing the hosts’ back line.

Shearer told BBC MOTD: “17 years old and he is a potential superstar, he was without doubt the brightest spark for Arsenal.

“Even when things weren’t for them, which was large parts of the game, he was the one probing, he was the one that was crossing and having pops at goal. He was the best player on the pitch.”

After speaking about the teenager’s impressive at delivering a ball into the box, the former Newcastle man claimed: “He can and does like to also like to go down that right-hand side if you show him too much room, then that’s fine he will do that as well. He was the best player on the pitch, so lively.”

Joe Cole even compared Nwaneri to Lionel Messi he was that good against Leicester with the winger being able to move the ball so quickly around the penalty area.

Nwaneri managed more attempts at goal than any Arsenal player and had more touches than any of their other attackers.

His dangerous crosses into the box were eventually rewarded with an assist as he beautifully picked out Merino for the winning goal.
