“I have returned the Man of the match award to him, he was our hero yesterday…I’ve never seen such performance from any player in my whole life”: Arsenal youngsters named ONE teammate who shocked him with a terrific performance against Leicester City

Arsenal picked up a third straight Premier League win following a hard-fought victory against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The Gunners had a tough opening half on the road. They had a solitary clear-cut chance which Leandro Trossard fumbled.

The second half had a similar start. Ethan Nwaneri hit the woodwork twice and eventually played a key role in the victory.

The 17-year-old delivered a peach of a cross for substitute Mikel Merino to head home in the 81st minute.

Merino went on to secure a brace as a makeshift striker, but Nwaneri was deservedly handed the man of the match award.

The teenager had a passing accuracy of 91 percent and won a stunning 13 out of 16 duels. He also won 100 percent of his tackles (3/3) alongside seven dribbles. He provided three accurate crosses including one for Merino’s opener.

Nwaneri is considered as one of the best players to come out of the Hale End academy, and proved his immense potential against the Foxes.

In the absence of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli on the right wing, Nwaneri showed that he can be a reliable figure for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Nwaneri, who received an 8/10 rating from football.london, has a major role to play over the coming weeks as Saka and Martinelli may not return until after the international break.
