“If that guy remain here next season, we’ll relegate”: Man United’s coach Ruben Amorim names ONE player who must be removed from the squad by all means

Roy Keane doesn’t hold anything back when discussing Manchester United, and now one player has been the subject of serious criticism.

Friday night saw Ruben Amorim make it eight Premier League games without a win.

An 18th league defeat of the campaign for Manchester United, and at this point, there is no shock, just a bewilderment over how bad things have to get before Amorim’s prophesied ‘storm’ passes.

It was a 1-0 loss for United against Chelsea, but it felt like a heavier defeat and a deflating night, which built absolutely zero momentum to bring to Bilbao, but luckily neither did Spurs.

The Europa League final offers a temporary reprieve from the domestic form, but it really is a must-win game for United, otherwise, it could be catastrophic. Even winning the final won’t give Amorim much rope for next season, with fans already growing weary.

However, when considering some of the players Amorim is having to use, he can hardly be blamed for all of these struggles, with Roy Keane picking one out for criticism.

Roy Keane slams Rasmus Hojlund for performance vs Chelsea

In the defeat, United’s worst player by far was Rasmus Hojlund as he lost nine duels and completed just 11 passes, offering practically nothing.

The number nine was so bad, United fans want Hojlund dropped for the final, instead opting to not play a striker at all.

Hojlund’s performance was again far below the required standard, which was pointed out by Keane on Sky Sports after the game.

“They’ve got no striker. Hojlund tonight looked like a young kid for Chelsea, he looked like he’s just come out of the academy. His runs weren’t right, his timing, and his hold-up play.

“If you’re a striker playing for Manchester United, and you walk in and you’ve not had even one shot, the whole team has had one shot on target.

“We keep making excuses for him, talking about confidence, but when you’re a striker up there, you’ve got to make something happen, and what the big clubs have is strikers who can produce something by themselves even if they’re not getting great service.

“They can do this because they’ve got quality, a bit of desire and determination, a bit of experience… football intelligence, but you don’t see that with Hojlund so United are up against it all the time.

“Obviously, he needs a little bit of support, but my goodness, sometimes you’ve just got to do a little bit better.”

With his comment on Hojlund lacking football intelligence, he is basically implying that the Dane doesn’t know how to play football, and based on two full seasons, this is spot on.

Due to this, the need for a replacement is bigger than ever.

Manchester United must sign two strikers this summer

With Hojlund’s United career surely hanging in the balance, Ineos should be prioritising finding an upgrade to replace the Danish international.

In order to do this, United are favourites to sign Liam Delap this summer, in a move that brings Premier League proven goals, while also being the character of a player that Amorim likes.

However, this alone is not enough considering Hojlund should really be sold having shown nothing to argue to the contrary this season.

Therefore, United need two strikers, and in an ideal world, this would be someone like Victor Osimhen, a world class striker both Delap and Chido Obi can learn from.

However, financial constraints could make Jean-Philippe Mateta a solid option for the role as a slightly older, yet lethal goalscorer, and he also has Premier League experience.
