Arsenal are said to be interested in a summer deal to sign Juventus frontman Dusan Vlahovic. Vlahovic is one of the forwards who has been regularly linked with a North London switch, and it’s no secret Arsenal need a new frontman this summer.
According to CaughtOffside, the Gunners are ‘planning to hold talks’ over a Vlahovic deal this summer, and it’s reported it would take a fee of £49.5million to get a deal done this summer. It’s reported Juventus could cash in as they look to add to their squad this summer.
Wright on Isak transfer
Ian Wright has issued his verdict on a potential Alexander Isak transfer this summer, believing the Gunners are at a disadvantage. He said: “He would probably go to Liverpool. I’d like to think Mikel Arteta could convince him, but look at Liverpool and Arne Slot.
“Slot hasn’t even got his own players in yet. That seems like a more attractive proposition, but again, Arsenal will need to do the work. I would hate it if it was between Arsenal and Liverpool because he would probably go for Liverpool with the way it’s gone for Arne Slot.”
Arteta on contract talks
Mikel Arteta has refused to give an answer over whether contract talks with Bukayo Saka and William Saliba have started. He said: “I think those communications or decisions are made over time so we understand when we have to act.
“Players and agents are fully aware what the intentions of the club are. And in the right moment we have these discussions. I’m sure we’re very aware of the contractual situation of every player so they will be dealing with those kind of matters.” Asked if starts have started, he added: “Not yes and not no.”
