From yesterday until April 25, the Larnaca Tennis Club will host the ITF Seniors World Championship 2016. This international championship is an annual institution for Larnaca, but this year it has been upgraded to level two from three, and for the first time it is being held in Cyprus, as Grade2.
The entries this year are more than expected, exceeding 150 athletes, of which foreigners are over 100, with important names from various countries of the world, and very high scores in their world rankings.
The foreign athletes and their companions will stay in Larnaca hotels. The tournament is supported, among others, by the Larnaca Tourism Development and Promotion Company as it is a remarkable annual event that contributes significantly to the further promotion and development of sports tourism.
The President of the Larnaca Tennis Club, Marios Petrou, in his statements stated that this success for Larnaca is mainly due to the very good organization that has left an excellent impression on the foreign opponents.
