The Red Devils will soon lock horns with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground as Ruben Amorim looks to climb the Premier League table.

‘United still keen on Bundesliga star’
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, United remain keen on signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League on numerous occasions in the past, but a switch has never materialised.

The report claims the Bundesliga outfit want €80m (£67m) for Simons, whose departure has been described as ‘possible’. It’s said that the Red Devils have been keeping tabs on Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike too, with Amorim eager to sign a new striker this summer.

The Manchester Evening News says: “Xavi Simons would be a great signing for Manchester United. I think he’d do really well in one of the number ten roles under Ruben Amorim. If the Red Devils were to secure the RB Leipzig star’s signature, they’d still need to follow up his arrival with a top striker and a few other signings.”
