Leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga injured, out of ODI series against New Zealand

Dambulla: Sri Lankan leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said that injured Hasaranga has been ruled out of the ODI series and Dushan Hemantha has been included in his place in the team for the upcoming series.

Hasaranga suffered the injury while bowling during the second T20 match against New Zealand in Dambulla on Sunday. 27-year-old Hasaranga had taken six wickets in two T20 matches. In the match held on Sunday, he took four wickets and was named Player of the Series. After the match, Hasaranga had told about his injury. He suffered a similar hamstring strain during the home series against India in August.

It is noteworthy that before this, New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka due to a calf injury suffered in the last T20 match and Adam Milne has been called in his place in the team.
