In a surprising way, the University of Cyprus passed the headquarters of Tepak, beating the University of Technology with 4-0, remaining in the first place of the standings in the men’s futsal championship.
From the first half, the Kallinikos futsal players laid the foundations for victory, as Varnavas gave his team a 0-1 lead. On the other hand, the home side under the guidance of Elisha, tried as hard as they could in the early stages of the match, but failed to find a goal to equalize before half-time.
In the replay, the facts were different. The University of Cyprus was in a frenzy. Varnavas doubled his and his team’s goals early and with 0-2… the water went into the gutter! The visitors continued at the same pace as Eutychios and Herakleou scoring a goal each and giving dimensions of triumph to their victory. The University of Technology battled back, but were unable to fight back and suffered a heavy defeat that may cost them their title shot.
In the other match of the day, Frederick won the match 3-0 due to the inability of the European to come to the game, while the European on the basis of the announcement also received a nullification with the deduction of two points by the committee.
