Medical Completed: Another top player has completed his medical to join Manchester United as the superstar is set to pen five-years deal today

Manchester United have made an offer worth in excess of £60m for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, journalist Duncan Castles has claimed.

The Red Devils have reportedly submitted another bid for the Cameroonian forward after seeing their initial £55m proposal rebuffed, as they aim to further bolster Ruben Amorim’s frontline.

United have welcomed Matheus Cunha as their first summer arrival and remain keen on a deal for Mbeumo, who has emerged as a transfer target for at least three other Premier League clubs.

Castles claims the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa are all interested in the ‘exceptional’ 25-year-old amid his stunning Premier League campaign.

Man United Submit Another Mbeumo Bid

Face competition from Premier League clubs

Castles, speaking on the Transfers Podcast, has revealed that Man United have offered a package worth more than £60m for Mbeumo, but are not expecting a quick deal with Brentford:

“A bit more detail on where they’ve got to, and I’m told that they’ve offered a package worth more than 60 million pounds to Brentford for the 25-year-old forward, who radically outperformed his expected goals tally last season, with 20 in 38 Premier League appearances for Brentford.

“I’m told that what United have been trying to do here is not just get the player in quickly, as they’ve done with Matheus Cunha.

“It’s also that they’re trying to get ahead of the competition for Mbeumo, which will come, or is coming, from Tottenham, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.”

Mbeumo is coming off a career-best Premier League campaign with Brentford, having scored 20 goals and provided eight assists in 38 appearances last season.

The Cameroonian is now expected to depart the Bees with a year left on his contract, although the club hold an option to extend it by another 12 months, until June 2027.

Man United are hoping to offload several forwards to boost their pursuit of Mbeumo, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho available for departure.

The Red Devils are believed to be prioritising a permanent sale for Sancho, among others, after Chelsea opted against activating their option to buy the England international.
