The Spanish midfielder playing for Manchester City has won this award for the first time. Manchester City won the English Premier League title for the fourth consecutive time. However, a surprising thing was that Spain’s legendary football club Real Madrid boycotted this awards show.

28-year-old Rodri played an important role in helping Manchester City win the title this year. He also became the Player of the Tournament in Euro 2024. In the press conference after the awards show, when Rodri was asked about Real Madrid’s absence, he gave a diplomatic answer. He said, “It is his decision. He did not want to come here for some reasons.
