Portugal won with Ronaldo’s record 132nd goal

London : Cristiano Ronaldo proved again why he is important to Portugal despite being 39 years old. The star striker came on the field as a substitute after half-time and scored the decisive goal in the 88th minute. With this, Portugal defeated Scotland 2–1 in the Nations Cup football tournament.

This was Ronaldo’s 132nd goal in international football, which is a world record. Ronaldo could not score a goal in five matches of the European Championship, but Portugal coach Robert Martinez kept faith in this legendary player and his decision is proving to be right.

Ronaldo also played an important role in the 2-1 victory over Croatia on Thursday. In this match, he scored the 900th goal of his career overall for club and country.
