Chelsea spearhead Sam Kerr and partner Kristie Mewis are expecting a child next year.
The duo informs about the pregnancy on Instagram. In the post, Kerr points to Mewis’ stomach. NRK mentioned the matter first.
Kerr, who was teammates with Guro Reiten at Chelsea, is currently out of action after suffering a cruciate ligament injury. Probably she won’t play matches before the New Year.
Kerr started her career in Perth and played for Sydney FC and Western New York Flash before signing for Sky Blue FC in the American League in 2015. Then the journey went to the Chicago Red Stars before she signed for Chelsea in 2020.
Kerr made her debut for the national team in Australia as a 15-year-old back in 2009. Since then, she has scored 69 goals in 128 matches.
