Just before the break of the national teams, the French league completes its 11th matchday, which so far has been very impressive.
Brest, which in the Champions League does things and miracles, was defeated handily by the bottom of the standings Montpellier (3-1), while Nice and Lille offered an abundant spectacle with many phases and four goals, but without one of the two emerging teams as the winner (3-1).
Montpellier hosted this year’s surprise top club competition, Brest, and showed their mood early on. Just in the 4th minute, Nortnin put his team in front of the score by hitting from 11 steps to make it 1-0.
Khazri quickly doubled his team’s lead in the 12th minute with a stunning free kick which left the Brest keeper no room to react and despite his efforts failed to clear the danger for his side.
Martin in the 50′ gave new interest to the match, as he took advantage of the inertia of the opposing defense and managed to reduce to 2-1.
The guests pushed to equalize but without success and in the end they ended up conceding a third goal in the 85th minute from Koulibali who ensured the victory of his team making the final 3-1.
Earlier in the day (16:00), Nice managed to get a golden point at home against Lille, thanks to Lucet’s goal at 90+6′.
The visitors took the lead with Pardo in the 17th minute. Nice’s answer came in the second half. Diop equalized for his team in the 56th minute, but Lille struck again in the 66th minute with Bakker.
The Dutchman made it 2-1 and the game then looked to be winding down. Everything showed that the double would come, but in the last phase of the match Lucet performed his… miracle and equalized at 2-2 at 90+6′.
