Super League, Athens Kallithea – Panseraikos 1-2: The “Lions” got the gifts and a big double
[ad_1]
The “Lions” of Serres returned in the best way to competitive action, after the interruption of the championships for the obligations of the national teams, after they “passed” through Leoforos in the context of the 12th matchday, with a 2-1 victory over Athens Kallithea .
Juan Ferrado’s “team” took full advantage of Barragan’s two “gifts” in the goals he conceded, first in the 42nd minute with Hadjistravos and in stoppage time by Betancourt.
Thus, the Serrai reached 13 points, keeping the Athenians in last place with 7 points, continuing without a win in the league.
The evolution of the fight
Panserraikos had the first big chance of the match and a double chance in fact. It wasn’t until the 4th minute that Hadjistravos took the ball into the area and scored, Baragan made a save and Betancourt on his return caught a shot from the height of the penalty which went over the posts.
Athens Kallithea equalized the game after ten minutes and in the 20th minute had its own “big” moment, when from a nice combination Manthatis sent a cross to the back post and Loukinas sent the ball over the posts with a nailed header.
In the 30th minute, Staikos’ shot on the edge of the area went over the goalposts, while two minutes later Gianni’s effort went wide. In the 42nd minute, the “lions” opened the scoring with Zisi Hadjistravos. The Panserraikos midfielder took the ball from outside the area, ‘weighted’ his foot and took a nice powerful, angled shot with Baragan finding the ball but unable to save for the visitors 1-0.
Athens Kallithea tried to react and “answer” immediately by missing an incredible double chance with Gianni in the 45th minute. The Italian striker found himself in a shooting position in the area, but was initially beaten by Gougesashvili, while Deligiannidis then pushed Gianni’s second effort over the line.
At the start of the second half, the home team’s coach Massimo Donati tried to… shuffle the deck with three changes (Valbuena, Diba, Motok), but Panserraikos was the one who missed the first good chance in the 57th minute with Deletic’s foul that went a little out.
In the 70th minute, Athens Kallithea was left with ten players after the direct dismissal of Motok, who made a very dangerous mark on Deletic’s ankle and was sent off to the dressing room.
However, the numerical disadvantage did not deter the hosts, who tied the match in the 74th minute. From an individual effort and a shot by Manthatis, Gugesashvili saved, but the demonic Valbuena saved time and equalized at 1-1.
The match then became… a rodeo, with both teams giving everything for the “three points”, missing opportunities on both sides. In the 80th minute, Gugesashvili showed good reflexes in Demetrius’ shot, while in the 83rd minute another very good foul by Deletic went wide.
In the 84th minute, Barragan saved Peruzzi’s close-range shot, only for Hefte Betancourt’s buzzer beater goal to come in the second minute of stoppage time, with great control and a shot that beat the home goalkeeper, who slipped, giving the ” golden” treble to his team.
Athens Kallithea again looked for the goal of… redemption, but Valbuena’s shot in the 94′ this time went just wide and the final 2-1 in favor of Panserraikos did not change…
