Super League: The money that the PAE are asking for a TV contract
[ad_1]
Until this year, the PAE her Super League they manage it themselves their television rights. Everyone agreed with the television “roof” they considered advantageous and thus the “pie” of the rights was shared. From the 2025 the landscape is changing, as central television management will be implemented as agreed.
Generally, all Super League teams will go together into one channel. Which will essentially buy the whole championshipas it used to be. There have already been meetings in the league on the subject, while contacts have also been made between the “big men” of the league. Those who will de facto get the biggest share of the financial “pie”. At the same time, they are the ones who will have the hashura as well, as the amounts they received on their own were clearly more than what will be attributed to them now. Generally favored will be the “small”.
The first estimates therefore, want the Super League not to discuss it for an amount below 65,000,000 euros. Even expecting that maybe this will grow due to the interest that is now great in the sports fan world. The suspense of the championships, the investments made by the PAE, create a special interest which has increased the interest of the world and at the same time the commerciality of the product.
In fact, it is possible that this will also be seen in the central sponsorship of the championship, as it is rumored that an income of up to 3 million will be generated annually. Amount to be shared among the teams. But this is something separate from the television contract.
The issue, of course, is how many interested parties there will be. The two subscription platforms that share the TV rights to the PAEs, by moving forward with their joint agreement for a small fee so that subscribers can watch both without the need for dual contracts, have strengthened their own momentum on the issue. In general, there will be no competition between them that would raise the price significantly.
From the rest of the channels, it doesn’t seem that anyone interested will emerge. So it remains to be seen whether the Super League will manage to find the €65 million contract they want and what will be their attitude in the event that this does not happen in the end.
