Manchester United have reportedly been told how much they can expect to pay for Victor Osimhen with the Nigerian striker open to making a move to Old Trafford.
Osimhen has been on the Red Devils’ radar ahead of the transfer window, amid Ruben Amorim’s desire for a new number nine. The 26-year-old spent the season on loan at Galatasaray in Turkey after a falling out with parent club Napoli.
Graeme Bailey (via United in Focus) reports that Osimhen isn’t expected to demand the type of money he was offered by Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal. The Nigeria international snubbed a £64m (€75m) move to Saudi Arabia despite receiving a whooping £25.5m (€30m) contract offer, per Football Italia.

He’s not after Saudi money
Osimhen’s decision to turn down a move to Saudi Arabia suggests he’s eager to continue playing at the highest level in Europe. He has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and Manchester United could be frontrunners for the former Serie A Golden Boot winner.
Bailey reports that he “has always wanted a Premier League move” and “knows” United are an option. He claimed that a source close to the forward isn’t making a decision because of money, but knows his worth:
“I understand after talking with a source close to the player that we can confirm Osimhen is not basing his decision on money, if he were, he would have accepted the Saudi offer. He does, however, believe he is one of the best strikers in world football and wants to be paid as such, which doesn’t mean he will be demanding Saudi money from United.”
Osimhen is one of Europe’s most reliable forwards, scoring goals throughout his career at LOSC Lille, Napoli, and Galatasaray.
INEOS have implemented a new wage structure at Old Trafford, which has largely led to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho being frozen out. Bruno Fernandes looks set to stay after also turning down a move to Al-Hilal, and Amorim’s captain sits on a purported £300,000 per week.
This could be the type of weekly wages on offer to Osimhen given he’s on a similar level to the Portugal international. There are suggestions that he has been pushing for £400,000 while in talks with the club. GIVEMESPORT sources understand that Liverpool could provide competition for his signature.
