“He’ll be out for the rest of the season…It’s unfortunate”: Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed another horrible injury news as star will be out for the rest of season

Arsenal returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

They had some defensive mishaps during the opening half but preserved their lead until the break.

Arsenal had a much better performance after the interval and ended up with a comfortable 3-0 win.

Oleksandr Zinchenko made a surprise start at left-back yesterday with Myles Lewis-Skelly absent from the squad with a knee issue.

When asked for an update, the manager said Lewis-Skelly was not feeling good in training on Tuesday.

He added that the teenager will need some more tests today to assess his injury situation.

Arteta said: “I’m not sure. He judged it in the game against Villa and he thought it was okay and he finished the game and the next day it wasn’t bad.

“And then yesterday he wasn’t feeling right so he started the session and he wasn’t feeling good so we need some more tests tomorrow.

“Hopefully it’s nothing big but the games are coming very fast.”

Lewis-Skelly has been a revelation since making his full Premier League debut against Everton.

The 18-year-old became an undisputed starter at left-back even when Riccardo Calafiori was available for selection.

He has now sustained a potential injury setback. Hopefully, it is nothing serious, and he will return to action soon.

Zinchenko played at left-back against Zagreb, but we won’t be surprised if Calafiori replaces him this weekend.

The Italian returned to training recently. Arteta probably did not want to risk him against Zagreb last night.

He could return to the starting XI for Saturday’s afternoon kick-off at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league.
