TERMS AGREED: Player agrees to join Manchester United as everything is ready ahead of six-years deal

Patrick Dorgu already ‘has an agreement’ to join Manchester United, and that may now be on the cards as Antony departs for Real Betis.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport and Diario de Sevilla, who both provide positive takes on the situation today.

First the Italians report that Manchester United have boosted their offer for Dorgu, reaching €32m plus bonuses with their latest bid.

They’ve already received approval from Dorgu for the transfer, with him eager to move to the Premier League. He ‘has an agreement’ with Manchester United and has had it for some time.

Thus, they have increased the pressure to get closer to the €40m that Lecce have been requesting since negotiations began. Another round of negotiations is expected and could yield positive results.

This is backed by Diario de Sevilla, who say the fact Ruben Amorim has allowed Antony to depart may be a major hints things are progressing with Dorgu.

Reports this week stated the Manchester United boss would not let the Brazilian leave until he had secured a replacement.

But the winger received permission from Manchester United yesterday and arrived in Seville in the early hours of Saturday morning to undergo a medical examination with Betis.

After that he will finalise his loan deal and join the Spanish club on loan until the end of the season. That loan will not include a purchase option.

The fact United have now allowed him to depart is seen as a hint that they are ‘very close’ to signing Dorgu, who would be his replacement.

It’s all heading in a positive direction on the Dorgu front, with it seeming likely he will be a United player before the window closes.
