Liputan6.com, Jakarta- Rendy Varera Sanjaya managed to become the overall champion in the elite men’s class 76 Indonesian Downhill 2024. Rendy was not overtaken in the racers standings even though he only finished in fourth place in the last series which took place at Klemuk Bike Park, Batu, Malang, East Java on November 10 2024.
In series 3, Rendy was unable to compete with two foreign racers, Bernard Kerr and Benny de Vall and Dois Audy Fikriansyah, who were in first to third place.
Bernard was the fastest in the Men Elite 76 Indonesian Downhill 2024 series three by setting a time of 01 minutes 50.523 seconds. Rendy’s own record was 01 minutes 51.872 seconds
By finishing fourth on Sunday, Rendy received an additional 100 points. The Dayu Racing Team racer also succeeded in securing the overall title with a total of 490 points.
In the overall general standings, Rendy is 106 points ahead of Andy Prayogo who is in second place with 384 points. Third place was won by Agung Prio Apriliano. Rendy succeeded in winning far after winning in series 2.
Rendy is grateful to be able to lock in the championship title in the elite men’s class 76 Indonesian Downhill 2024. This is because the competition this year is even fiercer with the presence of young, brave racers.
“There are a lot of kids who have just moved up from junior to elite. So the competition is tight. The young don’t want to lose to the older ones either. And in essence, for this year, many of the time records are really tight. Bike settings and other things have to be right and maintain good condition. OK,” said Rendy.
