WTA Finals: Krejcikova enters semi-finals after defeating Coco Gauff, Swiatek out

Riyadh : Barbora Krejcikova defeated Coco Gauff in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the WTA Finals, sending second seed Iga Swiatek out of the final tennis tournament of the year despite a win. Krejcikova is the last player to make it to the semi-finals. Top seeds Aryna Sabalenka, Zheng Qianwen and Gauff had already secured their places in the last four.

Wimbledon champion Krejcikova topped the Orange Group and will face Zheng in the semi-finals. Gauff will face Purple Group winner Sabalenka in the other semi-final. Swiatek defeated Daria Kasatkina 6–1, 6–0 in less than an hour, but only a win for Gauff over Krejcikova would have allowed her to advance from the Orange Group.
