“You can leave now if you want to leave…But I hope you don’t regret it”: Man United’s coach says he’s no longer begging £90,million rated United’s player to stay anymore
Manchester United’s first-team squad has yet to change this month despite several players being tipped for an exit.
Ineos‘ overhaul of Manchester United looks set to reach the squad this year with very few considered safe from being axed.
This month, already it looks like several first-team departures are being worked on.
Marcus Rashford is one departure actively being discussed. Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho has been the subject of interest from Napoli, Spurs and Chelsea.
Ineos could be set to sell the majority of United’s most valuable players. However with little interest in permanent exits for some players – loans are also heavily expected.
Now one player has been told he can leave on loan.
Manchester United tell Tyrell Malacia he can leave on loan
With the United squad quite bloated with players Amorim really has no intention of using, it would make sense to send players on loan.
Antony is one United may have to loan with no interest in purchasing him right now. Now, Tyrell Malacia has joined this list.
According to Dutch outlet Voetbol International, Malacia has now been told that he can leave on loan this month.
The report claims Malacia will leave on a short loan – with no shortage of interest in the former Feyenoord full-back. Despite his lengthy lay-off, the report claims clubs from Europe’s top leagues are queuing up to sign him.
It is said to be a matter of time until he leaves, with Juventus one club to have shown interest earlier this month. Meanwhile, Malacia is also believed to be a target for Ruud van Nistelrooy and Leicester City.
This claim has since been reinforced by the Daily Mail’s Nathan Salt who confirmed a source close to Malacia has confirmed he will be leaving.
Malacia is desperate for regular football – which looks unlikely at United as of now. However, it will leave United needing a replacement.
Ruben Amorim will need to replace Malacia
The £75k-a-week Malacia has gotten a handful of chances under Amorim to impress – yet has never looked up to the levels required at this football club. This could simply be match sharpness, but with the demands Amorim has for his wing-backs, Malacia doesn’t appear to be a good fit.
So if Amorim is getting rid of Malacia, then it would be logical to assume the club are going to replace him considering the Dutchman is the only natural senior option for the position right now.
This could finally see United trigger the bargain £17m release clause for Alvaro Fernandez, which would be a superb upgrade for Amorim.
However, if Malacia does leave, it could also mean that Amorim will instead opt for a replacement in the academy.
In this event, Harry Amass could finally get his chance, having improved physically in recent months which bodes well for his chances.
