Big surprise from Lee Carsley. According to the “Guardian”, Harry Kane is not going to get a starting shirt from the English coach for tonight’s (14/11, 21:45) match against Greece, for the 5th matchday of the Nations League.
The Bayern Munich striker is in good shape and is not suffering from any injury…
It is reminded that Trent Alexander-Arnold, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Jack Grealish, Bucayo Saka, Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale and Levi Colwell have been left out of England’s squad.
England captain Harry Kane, meanwhile, is none too pleased with the number of players who have pulled out of his national team’s squad.
Kane’s statements
“I think England are coming above anything. England are ahead of the club,” Kane told ITV Sport. “England is the most important thing you play as a professional footballer and Southgate was positive about that and wasn’t afraid to make decisions if, you know, that started to get away from certain players.”
Asked if the desire to play for England has changed, Kane said: “Yeah, it’s a shame this week obviously. I think it’s a difficult time of the season, maybe that’s taken advantage of a little bit.” He added: “I don’t really like it to be perfectly honest. I think England are ahead of anything, any club situation.”
